In November 1852, Edward married Mahala Harriet Curry (1821?-1900) from Green Turtle Cay, Abaco. She is the daughter of Thompson Curry (1784) and Mary Albury.

Edward owned three large, ocean-going ships – The Hattie, The Pajara and The Lady Bannerman.

There is a photo of a two-masted schooner which was built by William Edward Roberts in the Albert Lowe Museum. Edward’s brother, Otis, owned the house that is now the Albert Lowe Museum.

Edward Roberts passed away December 15, 1883 (age 53) in Green Turtle Cay, Abaco.
