Adriana Ellen ‘Ada’ Curry was born on April 3, 1855, in Green Turtle Cay, Abaco to Robert Curry and Margaret Saunders.

Her siblings included Sarah “Effie” Curry, Joseph Josiah Curry, and Vashti Curry.

In October 1874, Ada married Jabez Austin Lowe (1856-1893) son of William Lowe (1818-1886) and Amy Sweeting. Jabez is a great grandson of Captain Gideon Lowe.  Jabez’s death was reported in the New York Times, 26 November 1893, as follows:

Jabez A Lowe of the Island of Abaco died on the 4th inst. at his residence in Green Turtle Cay. Mr. Lowe had represented the Government of the United States as its Consular Agent at that port since 1885, and was well-known as a competent, honest, and obliging official.

Their children include Percival Everett (1875), Lenora Mabel (1878), Ethel Estelle (1880), Vivian Device (1883), Ruth (1887), Charles Adelbert (1890).

Adriana Ellen Curry passed away on June 14, 1938 (age 84) in Key West, Florida.
