Gilbert Robinson ‘Robbie’ Saunders was born on April 22, 1892, in Green Turtle Cay, Abaco to Benjamin James Saunders (1856) and Lydia Jane Sweeting (1863).

His siblings included Benjamin James (1879), Eugenia Maud (1881), Lorri Mabel (1898), Bessie Viola (1901).

In December 1914, Robbie married Mary Edith Curry (1894-1985) from Green Turtle Cay, Abaco. She is the daughter of Thomas Wesley Curry (1865) and Lilla Carleton (1866).

Their children included Sybil Dorothea (1915), Delores Pansy (1919), Audrey Elfreda (1922), Donald Robinson (1924) and Cedric Aubrey Wentworth (1935).

Gilbert Robinson Saunders passed away on June 3, 1970 (age 78) in Nassau, New Providence.
