John Estwick ‘Ekkie’ Lowe was born on May 20, 1913, in Green Turtle Cay, Abaco to John Aquilla Lowe (1858-1925) and Mildred Elizabeth Pearce (1881?-1956).

In Dade County, Florida on 26 July 1948, Ekkie married Maud Edith Knowles (1913-2007) from Nassau, New Providence. She is the daughter of John Henry ‘Harry’ Knowles (1879-1964) and Charlotte Rebecca Fernander (1884-1919). The couple had no children.

Ekkie was a clerk at John S. George and Co. in Nassau, New Providence.

John Estwick Lowe passed away on January 21, 1995 (age 81) in Nassau, New Providence and is buried in the Ebenezer Church cemetery.
