Emaline Elizabeth Saunders was born March 27, 1850, in Green Turtle Cay, Abaco to William Saunders (1815-1854) and Mary Ann (unknown).

Emaline Elizabeth and her brother William Henry are mentioned in their grandfather Joseph Saunders’ 1864 will.

I hereby give, devise, and bequeath unto my children, share and share alike, all and singular the rest, residue and remainder aforesaid of my real and personal estate .. namely Benjamin Saunders, Joseph Turtle Saunders, Eliza Saunders wife of Benjamin Turtle Saunders, Robert Henry Saunders, and Margaret Saunders, wife of Benjamin Roberts, ship carpenter; and to William Saunders and Emmeline Saunders, my two grandchildren, children of my deceased son William Saunders…”

Her father William died of consumption when Emaline was four years of age. She was sent to live with John and Susan Lowe and their family in Key West, Florida in the late 1850s.

On April 8, 1869, in Green Turtle Cay, Abaco, Emaline married John Henry Curry (1849-1939) from Green Turtle Cay, Abaco. He is the son of John Curry (1827-1892) and Eliza Ann Albury (1830-1892)

The family moved to Key West, Florida around 1888 as indicated in the 1900 US Federal Census.

Emaline Elizabeth Curry née Saunders passed away December 25, 1934 (age 84) in Key West, Florida and is buried in the City Cemetery. She is my 3rd cousin 3 times removed.
