Miss Amy taught for over 55 years on Green Turtle Cay. Her students spanned 4 generations. In 1983, she was awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) for meritorious civil service by former Governor General of the Bahamas Sir Gerald Cash. The school was later renamed Amy Roberts Primary School in her honor.
Amy Isabell Roberts née Lowe passed away on October 13, 1993 (age 83) in Green Turtle Cay, Abaco.
