Charles Francis Lowe was born on September 14, 1908, in Green Turtle Cay, Abaco to Edwin Jerome Lowe (1871-1932) and Alice Missouri Roberts (1878-1946).

On November 1, 1930, Charles married Geneva Louise ‘Neva’ Gates (1910-1998) from Green Turtle Cay, Abaco. She is the daughter of Jeremiah Gates (1868-1923) and Jessie Isabel Lowe (1876-1924).

The family lived at Lowesville on the Mainland of Abaco in the vicinity of ‘The Strip’ and the Treasure Cay airport in the late 1960s/early 1970s. With a wide smile and a steady stream of jokes, he greeted travelers like old friends, offering not just transportation but a warm introduction to the spirit of Abaco itself.

Charles Francis Lowe passed away on February 28, 1999 (age 90) in Freeport, Grand Bahama.
