Julia Lois ‘June’ Bethel was born in Green Turtle Cay, Abaco on June 4, 1911, to Winer Henry Bethell (1876-1945) and Spero Elizabeth Roberts (1889-1920). Her parents emigrated to Miami, Florida in 1918.
Her siblings include Rosalind Kathleen (1909), Norris Henry (1913), Winer Henry Jr (1916)
On December 16, 1933, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Julia married John Waugh Cunningham (1897-1967) from Iowa.
Their children included John Waugh Jr ‘Jackie’ (1934-1996), June Rose (1935-2011), Patricia Ann, and Charles Richard ‘Ricky’ (1944-2021).
Julia Lois ‘June’ Cunningham née Bethel passed away on March 23, 1990 (age 78) in New Port Richey, Florida.

CUNNINGHAM, JULIA L., 78, of New Port Richey, died Friday (March 23, 1990) at home. She was born in Green Turtle Cay, Bahamas, and came here 10 years ago from Melbourne. She was a retired restaurant proprietor and a member of Faith Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, John, California, and Charles, Ocala; two daughters, June VanBalen, Atlanta, and Patricia Laborda, Inverness; two brothers, Norris Bethel, Ocala, and Winer Bethel, Sebring; a sister, Rose Horne, Miami; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
